I gifted this to my wife, who often experiences back pain after long workdays. Initially, the massage was a bit too intense when used on the floor, as it penetrated deeply into the muscles. However, we discovered that it works best when propped against the back of a recliner, allowing her to control the pressure by leaning into it. The massage is strong and leaves the skin feeling hyper-stimulated, almost tingly, which is typical of Shiatsu techniques. Overall, it provides relief and is quite effective. I do wish the strap was longer for use with a recliner, as the included one is designed for a car seat. A longer strap would be more suitable for regular chairs at home. It’s also very quiet and has an optional heating feature, which is a nice touch. I’m pleased with the purchase.

For years, I have been dealing with a nerve issue in my lower back, likely sciatica. No doctor has been able to provide a clear explanation. A physiotherapist helped somewhat with “let’s just say trigger point treatment,” but it was time-consuming and expensive. At least I understood the problem and how to alleviate it. After trying endless pain medications, including Oxycodone, I thought I’d give this product a shot. If it didn’t work, it wouldn’t be a huge loss, and Amazon makes returns easy.
What can I say? This device is fantastic for me! I’m currently pain-free without any pills. I lie on my side on the couch and place the massager on my glutes, hips, thighs, and lower back. I start gently, testing and adjusting to find the best position. The device has great power, and at first, it’s a bit intense until the muscles loosen up. Gradually, it works out the tension. I’ve started to wedge it between myself and the couch for added pressure and deeper relief. Although it’s recommended to use the “15-minute program,” I often go longer if needed. It does get quite warm, which might be too much for some. I think it’s not ideal for daily use, but half an hour a day works wonders. Over time, I’ve found I don’t need it every day.
I even bought one for my mother because I was so impressed. She tried it for her neck, but at 80 years old, she struggled to use it. She said, “ouch, that hurts,” so the device didn’t suit her at all.

This isn’t the first time it’s happened, but it’s usually just a muscle strain that resolves over a few weeks or months. After this latest incident, I ordered this back massager, and it arrived within hours. The foam roller was too painful to use at that point and failed to provide the relief I needed. This massager delivered intense relief and penetrated deep into the tissue, giving me a euphoric sensation. However, I enjoyed it so much that I put too much weight on it, causing the balls to barely move and leaving me with bruising around my spine. Now, I can only use it lightly until the bruise heals. The heating function isn’t very warm, but I could feel it.
As a long-time back pain sufferer, I’ve tried various solutions. This massager is effective for temporary relief. However, I found that strengthening my core through exercises like sit-ups, pull-ups, and push-ups, along with losing weight, provided the best long-term relief. I also own a TENS unit, which works well, but it’s difficult to apply the pads on my back alone. I have heating pads, ice packs, various foam rollers, a Bosu ball, and topical treatments like Icy Hot, Tiger Balm, and Biofreeze. I even have a hot tub with multiple jets and seating options. This massager is a fantastic addition to my collection. I bought an acupressure mat at the same time, initially skeptical about it compared to the shiatsu heated massager. However, using both the acupressure mat and the shiatsu massager in conjunction with light stretching helped me return to work in just a couple of days, dealing with only mild stiffness and soreness instead of debilitating pain and immobility.
